I have it narrowed down to 3 cars: a 2010 Audi A6, and a 2010 and 2011 BMW 328i xDrive. I've seen and driven all three and am just in the decision making process now. However, I wanted to know what your opinions are on the different cars I'm looking at. So, I'll put the listings below (where applicable), and you guys give me your best NPOCP estimates.
2010 BMW 328i xDrive - $18988
Below what I wanted to spend, and it's loaded. Nav, sport package, and paddle shifters are a nice touch. In fact, the only thing really turning me off about it is the high mileage (~85000) in relation to the other 328 I'm looking at.
2011 BMW 328i xDrive - $24500
(No link and the car pictured is not the exact one I'm looking at)
No listing or picture of the actual car for this one, but I saw it and it was a beauty. Only 20000 miles and still under warranty. All the same equipment as the one above excluding Nav.
2010 Audi A6 3.0 - $24500
High mileage like the first 328, ~85000 for this one too. However, the high mileage didn't show when we took it for a test drive. Everything was smooth and worked great. Even the interior showed few signs of 85000 miles of use. Price can probably be negotiated, too, since it's at a small used car lot rather than the giant BMW dealers the others reside at.
So, what do you guys think? Which one would you buy?

Just curious why you have decided on 2010's? I'm sure you could get those body styles for a decent amount cheaper if you went a few years older. But I'm sure you all ready know this, so tell me why?
But as for the question .... I will always be a Quattro fan boy.

How did the A6 ride? I've test driven used ones around the same time, and the ride was really rough.

I would be happier with the Audi, imo it's more comfortable and not quite as common as the 3

Get the one under warranty. Nav is a waste anyway.

First things first - do you absolutely need AWD where you live? If so, I'd lean towards the Audi since it was designed and build with AWD in mind while the BMW system is more of an afterthought "wait, someone isn't going to buy a 328 because rear-wheel-drive, okay, crap, Karl, quick bolt zees pieces onto the 3-series and make it AWD."
Keep in mind also that if neither of these cars are CPO or come with a warranty you could be in for some big bills in the near future unless you are very handy with a wrench and shop manual.
Final advice - use something like befrugal.com's car calculator and make sure it makes sense to drop that much coin on a car.

Definitely need all-wheel drive for two reasons: it can get pretty bad in the winter here and my parents (who are paying) won't buy a car without all-wheel drive. I'll be sure to check out the car calculator.

A6! If you do need AWD, Quattro is a much better system.
I had a C5 A6 and loved it. It was so comfortable on highway trips.

Honestly, I'd say to shop around a bit more and find an A6 with lower mileage, or take a look at some lease returns of A4 2.0T Quattros. There are deals to be had on CPO ones.

You'll be happier in the A6. More room, quieter ride, comparably chaper repair costs and likely better handling. Some may retort "waaa no way bmw iz teh ultimat driving masheen" but what those asshat fanboys don't know is that to make that BMW awd they had to raise the engine quite a bit to fit the transfer case, noticeably upsetting the center of gravity and handling characteristics. The Audi's case is integrated/much closer to the block for that reason. Also the media interface is nicer. ...I sold Audi's and test drove the xdrive's this isn't just fan service.

I think I'd go with the 2011 Bimmer. Sure its a smaller than the A6, but its also got a lot less mileage. So at least it'll be you adding up the ~60,000 of the other two.

If I had to choose I'd pick the low mileage. I'd prefer the Audi to the BMW but mileage wins wars.
May I throw a wrench in your system? I know there's always some pain in the ass that puts out an idea for a different car even though you blatantly said it was between those 3. But I'm that pain in the ass lol. (And to be fair I voted between the 3).
You can buy an AWD Cadillac CTS for that money with less miles. And we all know the CTS is awesome. It would be my choice in the segment.

You can even get into 2011 models with low mileage : http://detroit.craigslist.org/okl/ctd/406538…

Just like others have suggested, I would recommend finding one that is still under warranty or CPO'd. Is there any reason why an A4 isn't on the list? You could have the AWD system similar to the A6 but with fewer miles at a similar price in an A4. Not to mention it's about the same size as a 3-series.

Well if the visibility is bad that's fine, but why does a caddy have to be big? I mean I know you can only push so much he's about to buy a really nice car either way for you. Just seems like a strange reason to hate it. I bet he thinks the ATS is the worst car on the planet then!

Well I know I'm fighting a losing battle, but if the car is good who cares what a typical version of it is. Just seems like a really silly reason to deny you the car you wanted to initially go look at it. I know it's his checkbook but still.

Then again, since you say your parents are buying it for you, I assume you're some kinda youngin, so maybe slow is ok.

I say audi, because it is meant to be AWD, and it isn't just an add on. plus the 6pot is a good engine
